As the sister of Kay Danes (Australian political prisoner Laos 2001) I comprehend the tragedy of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi`s situation. I find it appalling that whilst we proclaim to fight terrorism we knowingly blindly turn away from the issues of Human Rights Violations such as that of Burma leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (and others in Phontong Prison, Vientian Laos where Kay Danes was tortured along with her husband and others). Perhaps it is because there is no economic value in helping these people. Instead our countries continue to offer foreign aid and other economical support to the very Governments that commit these violations (knowingly). Perhaps the treaties signed by countries of the world (ie: the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights Treaty - once a wonderful concept but presently a document that it appears no longer holds any value with those who signed) Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is in this situation because she holds the same values as we do - democracy for her people of Myanmar (Burma). Values listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. She is giving her life to fight for democracy and reform the very values America, Britain, Australia and others went to war in Iraq for. Why is it that we are willing to `save` the people of Iraq from oppression and suffering but fail to act when a democratically elected leader of Burma is being illegally detained and suffering human rights abuse? I hope you find it viable to assist the people of Burma towards democracy and freedom by working towards the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. For a moment take a look at your family members, loved ones, citizens - would you act differently if it was one of your own? If yes, than I ask that you act now to protect the future of Burma and its people. I feel the world will be a safer place with a democratically elected leader in Burma (Myanmar) than the present regime who could one day bite the hand that feeds it!

Foreign Prisoner Support is dedicated is a collective group of worldwide volunteers who work to both promote and to defend human rights around the world. Foreign Prisoner Support Services seeks to disclose human rights abuses accurately, quickly and persistently to governments, intergovernmental organisations, political groups, companies, and other individuals, to give hope to those who need it most. We believe that all humans deserve to be treated with dignity, and that every person should enjoy all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. We call on the world leaders to free Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her Colleagues without further delay so that human dignity and justice might be preserved.

How many die by nuclear bomb in Hiroshima? May be fifty thousand or more. Do you know how many people die by military ditatorship in Burma? There are 50 milion people, 50 millions prisoners, cause they have lost their faith, their rights, their future, their spirit, their soul, the 50 million people' generation, they are just like dead body insight Burma under military threat every day every family. No one know about Burma more than Burmese people. Please be aware of their voice. WE WANT FREEDOM, WE WANT DEMOCRACY, WE WANT TO BUILD OUR OWNED FUTURE, BECAUSE OF WE ARE HUMAN.

As part of the global Burmese democratic forces , I will be working with all others to overthrow the brutal regime replacing with a democratically elected government through the convention of the People's Parliament as per 1990 election results. All democracy-loving people have to be united for the common cause to free Burma from militry dictatorship. Those SPDC military criminals and their USDA thugs shall be brought to justice sooner or later. No compromise for democracy . No compromise for justice. 41 years is enough, people(s) of Burma should should be proud of the great motherland. We shall win!

The Burmese people should be given the freedom and democracy to run their country. Suu Kyi who is beacon for human rights and democracy to the Burmese people should be released from prison and pressure should be imposed on the military junta by mean of economic and continous pressure from freedom loving world govenments and the UN.
